I have a car for sale on the web. I received text messages from someone interested. The scammer sent me a fake cashier's check for $11,995.00 above the agreed sale price, then asked for this difference to be wired back to them. I called the cashier's check issuing bank and verified it was fake. It's important to know that cashier's checks are usually given credit for by your bank in 1-2 days, but the transsaction may be cancelled up to 3-4 weeks later, leaving you without the difference that you wired back.
