I was sent a letter and fake cashier's check from a company claiming to be DiamondPeak Research Inc. (website: http://www.diamondpeakresearch.com/). The letter asked me to email them upon receipt:

The check you received includes both compensation and funds for this survey, follow instructions to successfully complete the survey:

Cash received check at your bank and deduct your $350 pay.

Visit any local westernunion location in your area to pose as a customer making a transfer to a known associate. At the location ask the attendant for a send form and have the rest of the funds transferred to the information below after deducting your pay. Deduct whatever fee they charge you for using their service from the amount to be transferred.

I sometimes participate in focus group. A company by the name of DiamondPeak Research, Inc. contacted me via email about a group on Western Union...how people are complaining about the customer service (Pays $350.). I filled out the form stating I never had any issues etc. I received an email a few days letter saying that my check will be in the mail. The check I received in the mail was for 1725.00. I was instructed to email them (There is no phone contact) when I received the check. Then They instructed that I cash the check at my bank and western union the rest to >>>. Well I was suspicious when I open the check and saw the amount. Also, When I received the check a few friend of mine who I sent the group too received it. I called those who didn't let me know they received the check and told them if they do...don't cash it. A friend of mine email the guy back for a number and he never replied. I would have loved the money of course but not enough to go to jail. Also, The letterhead had one address, MI the check had WI so I don't know where this place is located. I am in Bklyn, NY
