I was on a cruise to Mexico in December, we disembarked to Cozumel on12-06-2017. My husband I went into to DI Diamonds to look at rings. The sales attendants were at our service immediately. I told them that I would like to purchase a ring but nothing over 5,000.00 or less. Well, I chose 2 rings and ask them the price but they would never give me a price. So they were in the back for a while and returned with 3 other rings and asked me if I liked them. I said "yes they are pretty but these not the rings I had chosen. She said these are so much better and we will give you a good deal. I ask the sales clerk how much and she would only say we are going to give you a good deal. She then said do you like Levian, I told her yes I have a Levian ring but I do not want a necklace and the next thing I know she has the necklace in my face saying oh you like don't you. I said, "yes but I do not want a necklace" and here again she says we will give you a good deal. I told her I do not care how good a deal it is I do not want it. I want to know the price of the rings. By this time my husband had left and I was alone and that is when they had really began to, I feel attack me, asking for money down. I give the other guy 500.00 in cash but all the time saying, I want to know the price first before I put anything down and he then took off. I ask the lady again "how much are the rings, she said again "we are giving you a good deal". Well the next thing I know she brings me some papers and has me sign at the bottom and I told her it does not have a price on it, she said "just sign it and then I will bring it back and show you the price". I told her if it is too high I do not want it. When she came back the papers were in the bag and she shoves the bag to me and says goodbye. I am standing there like, "what just happened". I tried to find the sales clerks that had helped me but they were nowhere to be found. My husband rushes in and says we have to go. When in the room I look at the receipts and the merchandise instead of 5,000.00 and under turned out to be over 16 thousand dollars. I was sick the rest of the cruise. I began contacting the New York DI Diamonds when we returned and I left several messages but never got a return call, so I emailed the company in order to get a return label. I received a statement in the mean time and on the statement my payments were going to be $564.00 a month for 2 years, who can afford that and if it is not paid in the 2 years the interest is accrued form day 1 and the amount ends up totaling over 56,000.00. I began emailing the company in New York. After several days I get an email stating that I need to state why I want to return the merchandise, I wrote a book basically and emailed it back to her. After two week I get an email stating that I needed to sign the attached form the letter that stated that they would give me a partial refund of 1,600.00 as a partial refund as a resolution to my claim and would be refunded to my credit card and I need to sign the form and email it back to her by today. I emailed the lady back and told her that this was a slap in the face to an already depressing situation. She replied back saying that we can not give you any more refunds, that you had to know you that the merchandise you were buying had to be over one thousand dollars. I was appalled, I replied again telling her that I did not ask for a refund I wanted to return the merchandise. I am currently waiting on a response. I feel so taken advantage of and scammed and I am still shaken up. To know that a company would not comply with my the price I wanted and is not working with me to coe up with a resolution. Attached is the letter I received.
