the owner anthony bell had a property for rent “363 E cuyahoga falls ave in akron ohio” on facebook marketplace and me and my girlfriend took it and were moving in 1/15/2021. the morning of we were supposed to meet him at 9am and we were running late because of moving issues. we arrives at 9:30-9:40am and he was not there even after being notified of us being late. instead he had his employees hand me the keys and collect the money(rent+security deposit) and handed me a receipt. his employees did not sign the receipt which was odd at first and they left. about 30 min later we start moving in and i noticed roaches everywhere. when i had called mr bell about my concerns he said “i dont care im at work”. he never showed up with a written up lease or even returned me calls so i decided i didnt want the place and kindly asked him to return out money because we hadnt signed a lease yet. he continued to ignore me and now has me blocked and i believe hes using his employees from his carpet cleaning company to collect money/deal with his tenants, then ignore them entirely. i knocked on our neighbors door after a couple hours and they informed me that they havent been able to get ahold of mr bell in weeks with concerns of there own apartment. i believe this man is using rental properties to scam low income citizens
