Caller said he was from the Department of the Treasury. Claimed they found 22 kilos of cocaine in my house. Then, he said someone must have stolen my identity. He said he had a form he could fill out for me over the phone.

I received a call today (2018-08-22) that was a recording telling me I was subject of a Treasury warrant and that I would be arrested tomorrow if I didn't call this number.

I thought it was phony, but I called to make sure. The man I talked to could barely speak English, and he was very fuzzy about who he really worked for. He began asking me personal questions. When I told him I wouldn't answer until he provided proof, he got even more demanding. I hung up.

The phone caller left two messages in the last week on our answering machine. We had a similar call a month ago. The caller said they were from the Department of the Treasury. They said that they were informing us that a legal action had been filed against us for tax fraud and we needed to call them immediately to avoid arrest.

They left a phone number but we deleted the message before we realized it might be helpful for us to report it. We will try to catch it if it happens again.
