I contacted a person on facebook who claimed she was finding horses a home and I messaged her to see what she had available, she sent me a picture and video of a horse that I was told was for sale. She was asking $1300 and a delivery fee of $500 with a deposit of $800 to get the paperwork started. I sent the deposit via an app I use, she was upset that I wouldn't send it by zelle, cash app or apple pay. Well she claimed to never have gotten the money and it was pending on my card, so I told her to wait and see. Well then I receive a message from her to check my email and the shipper was sending me a tracking number. So, I received an email from [email protected] stating they had the horse and here is my tracking number. I tracked it and it brought up a consignment form with my information on it and to visit the website deltadeliveryexpresservice.com to view it. Well, I was skeptical, so I asked for a sort of proof that they had the horse, the sent me a picture of a horse trailer and truck. I casually made a joke, oh, guess the horse is on the inside. Well then the shipper said we can deliver the horse when you pay the shipping fee of $500, I then emailed them back and said no, I paid the deposit which I was told included the shipping fee. Well the lady called me very upset and said to pay it and even had her husband as he claimed he was to call me and I said no, the deal was the deposit covered the shipping fee. So, he then calls me back and says okay, the fee is paid. I said no, this seems like a scam to me and I want my deposit back, the deal is off. I received an alert from the app I used that the money was never sent and my card company wouldn't process it. I then receive another email from the shipper stating that now I will have to purchase an insurance policy to cover the horse for aviation travel of $2000, and that 95% of that would be refunded once the horse was delivered. I again said no, I was not told that the horse would be flown in and then was emailed back and said okay, the horse has been changed to truckload, but the insurance is still required. I again, said no deal, now today July 3, 2023 I received a new email from the shipper threatening me with the animal welfare act clause and if I don't pay this money, they will take legal action and send me to jail and fine me. I emailed them back and said the horse sale was never finalized and you need to take it up with the shipper. Well they emailed me back and said I have until the morning to pay the money or they will start legal action. I have not responded since the last email. I am very upset about this, I was trying to do the right thing to give a horse a home and for people to try and intimidate and scare people into paying money is just wrong. I am appalled that these people get away with this all of the time.
