Degreed Reports & Reviews (7)

My husband received a number on facebook to approach for a wfh job in a reputed company in the USA. We've been refusing all the FB marketplace jobs scams, for once my husband got a bit confused since the scammers took a paradigm shift from marketplace job profile to a data entry job at Degreed.com. We received the following text on WhatsApp.
"Currently we are offering work from home online job offer.Employee might work 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. every day as an option that gives the employee an extra hour in the morning in exchange for losing an hour in the late afternoon.Employees may choose to take Sunday. Monday, Tuesday off or any three days to meet their desired schedule.Full-time employment often comes with benefits that are not typically offered to part-time, temporary, or flexible workers, such as annual leave, sickleave, and health insurance.
If you are interested let me know to get started."
Points to track down a scam:
1. Reputed companies don't hire through FB/WhatsApp.
2. They don't need a FB marketplace job posters when they're an enterprise themselves.
3. Serious hiring has salary negotiations (Amount and not the mode of xfer) towards the end.
4. There are some serious wfh opportunities. I did get hire for a wfh job and never had to visit my workplace. Yet i get paid every month and my bank account details were taken almost after a week of signing the offer letter. Plus I was a referral so i know a genuine coworker there and not a random fb poster.

Them was my 1st and last name the bank I used but not the account number and also yes I had a credit card but I did not advise which kind or the limits. I realized it was a scam when when they asked for my driver's license and I sent it to them but I blocked out the driver's license number and my address and the lady doing the interview responded back with laughing faces and said what is this and I explained to her that I was protecting myself in case this was a scam and she started to get really defensive and mean about it. Please don't fall for this fall for this company they will steal your money and hack into your phone I woke up the next morning and had 5 fraudulent charges and I don't know how they did it but they did

I responded to an Work From Home Data Entry Job post on Facebook (should have been my first clue) and the lady Robbie Collins instant messaged me the details and sent me the link to interview with a company called Degreed, Inc. She informed me it would be a Skype interview via text (that should have been my next clue) and provided me with a job post # 220/11 that I was then asked to provide then the interviewing manager Ms. Lillie Mceachern. The interviewee then asked a number of questions, a few rather questionable such as whether I owned a credit card and what the balance was on it and my cell phone carrier. Then notified me that their decision would be made promptly at 8am the next morning. The next morning 7am CST I receive a Skype message that I scored with high marks and that I was being offered a position with the company and that they needed a copy of my DL (which I regret providing them now) as well as a selfie for my company ID. They then go on to send me a lengthy list of the equipment they will be sending me ie... Mac book pro 2021, Fax Machine, scanner, copier, laminating machine w/cartridges etc... and all the software, trng module and so on w/ a lengthy list of all the office software I will need. At this junction the rep then texts that I will need to print a PDF check and what is the mobile banking app limit for check deposits (third red flag) I informed them I wasn't aware of this and that I would contact my bank. He stated this check payment would be the full funding they provide so employees can purchase all the software programs through their vendors to get started with training. I notified the rep my bank didn't open for a few hours and I couldn't call them right then and there. So I bought myself a little time to research for scams and found this information page. Mind you I never called my bank because I pretty much already new by now this was all a scam. Instead 9:00 my time rolled around and I message the rep that my bank recommended if they were going to send a check that they just send a physical check or wire the money as they don't mobile deposit PDF printed checks. The rep responded ok. A couple hours go back and I receive and I receive a message from the rep that before they can proceed in the payment process, the company now needs my log in information for my Facebook to "update my information on the company database and also allow me to be able to access company benefits and that some groups need to be added on my Facebook account. After that ads would be sent to you to get posted in the groups. Once they do this I can change my password information." To which I informed then in no way was I providing my Facebook log in information as it had nothing to do with me performing job tasks and I withdraw any interest in the position. Then rushed right back over to this sight to warn any and all of you if you who may be researching this yourself. DEGREED, Inc. is a scam. Don't get me wrong there is a legit company Degreed and they do offer online careers but go through their actual website or Indeed. Don't be gullible like I was intially and go through Facebook. I should have known from the get go.

I saw a post on our community FB page advertising a work from home date entry apportunity. After speaking to a person on FB named Linda Goodman Arnold, I was directed to a WhatsApp hiring manager, "Angela Clevenger". After asking questions that seem appropriate for an interview, except asking for bank name- which I refused to give, they make you stay on-line to get your results. I suspect they hacked or tried to hack my phone during that time. We will see. Than asked for all personal information including pic with DL in order to move forward in the hiring process. I was uncomfortable doing so and asked for another platform. I was given an email address, [email protected]. I still felt uncomfortable and reached out to the comapny via their webpage and it was confirmed to be a scam.

Found an add online via Facebook classified for a job as a data entry clerk. They respond to you and advise that they wish to interview you via the Whatsapp social media platform. They start the conversation off by giving you a picture of someones drivers license and indicate that this is them to help make you feel like they are legitimate. They then ask you a whole bunch of questions on Whatsapp like an interview. They then tell you that you are hired and they are paying $18/hour and talk about the software that you will need. They say you are hired to do data entry for the company Degreed. They then tell you they are going to be sending you a HP Laptop in the mail, and a check for the software that you will need to use for the data entry, and you get to keep $200 out of that for a hiring bonus. They require you to send in a copy of your drivers license and provide your phone number and email address.
