They called my husband saying they are trying to collect on a debt- that doesn’t exist- from 20 years ago. They said they are from the county processing service but office and left this message in my phone… (His wife-the message was sent as if it was for him)- We attempted to serve you with legal documents requesting our appearance in court, but the documents have been returned to the address we have on file in order to prevent receiving Further legal complications we strongly say you contact the attorney who is in charge of your case. Her name is Monica Miller telephone number to her office 866-507-8426. She will be able to provide additional details regarding your case

They called my phone and addressed me by name. They then stated that I owe for a payday loan. The amount owed is $*** and to get some of the amount taken off I can make a payment of $*** today or I will get served papers for court. I do recall getting a payday loan about 7-8 years ago for $*** from the Cash Store, so I assumed the call was real. But when I tried to search the name of the company that took the payment from my card I couldn’t find anything. Not sure if this is real or not. Any advice? I also reached out to the Cash Store and they have no recollection of this third party mediation company.

A message was left on my cell from a woman who identified herself as Lindsay Johnson from Active Aid (or Activate) Center informing me that "it looks like you owe some back taxes" and that I was eligible for my tax debt to be forgiven through the "Full Tax Forgiveness Program" and that through this program all my back taxes would be deemed non collectable. She said I needed to call her to fill out an application, and that if I wasn't interested I should call anyway and press 2 to be taken off the list. The number she called from according to my caller ID is 205 885 5056. The number she said to call her back at was 877 218 9287. I have a tax accountant. I have an online account with the IRS. I have no tax debt. Obviously a scam. I received a similar call a few weeks ago but I just deleted the message.
