I looked online to locate what I thought was the computer support number for my new Lenovo computer. I needed help setting up the printer so that we could print from all 3 computers. They asked to come onto my computer to run scans to see what the issues were. They said one of the computers had outdated Word and I knew my trial Word would be running out soon so they "sold" me a 5 year subscription for $499. The next day "Patrick" called saying their server had been infected and they were closing down for 10 days. They assured me I had not been infected and wanted to refund me my money. They said they needed to send it to my bank and wanted me to sign into my account with them online which I refused. I got off the phone and checked to see if I did in fact receive a 5 year subscription for Word, but alas, no. Upon Googling them I see that many others have been scammed. What is scary to me is that I was calling what I thought was a reputable computer company and it somehow got diverted to these crooks.
