I was contacted through my university email about a job opportunity. I thought that I was employed by them after they had me do some research on some office supplies. I was to send them the amount those supplies cost. They then sent me a check through email to be processed. I was then to send them money for the supplies that I had researched. I thought the items would be coming to me after I made payments. I started two payments one of $721.33 to Mirna Vasquez her phone number being +16787730208 for what I thought was supplies. I started another payment of $1,251.67 to the same information as before. I was told to make payments by sending money through Zelle. On the morning of 9/27/23 I realized the check they sent me was not going to be processed. I called my bank to stop the second payment and that was successful. The first payment had already gone through so I was informed that the bank would challenge it and in the next 10 days I will be informed of updates on my money.
