Finally opened my online drop shipping store and was excited for my first customers really big purchase. The customer claimed this was a shipping company that they wanted to use and used before, but only had aol email address for the shipping company no web page or business number, and wanted me to wire money sent for the shipping cost to this company immediately. The purchase was made from a card based in the U.S. according to the billing zip code but the shipping address was overseas. I began receiving phone calls from different google numbers that had different area codes and with different voices with foreign accents saying they were the customer and a few claiming to be the shipping company and to wire all the money needed for shipping immediately. I began to google on how to spot scams and read about the email writing mistakes and over payment for shipping cost to be wired I then looked back on our emails and realized I was being scammed. Luckily my merchant processor had held the funds due to it being first purchase so I wasn't able to access the funds, start on the order, or wire the money at that time, or I probably would have due to the excitement of the order amount and me thinking my business is finally taking off. Once I emailed the the customer of the high risk and scam calls that were flagged they no longer have tried to contact me. I have already reported the shipping's email address and number used, this is my second report on the "customer" and his information. I believe my business was targeted due to the fact it is a new online store and the products I sell are adult sensitive so we always let our customers know of their shipping options and the discretion we provide.
