Received a phone call stating that I owed 786 dollars to Check n Go for a transaction in 2014. They said they were going to litigate and serve me with papers and that I had committed a felony. There was no "agreement" on file. I asked for their corporate address and they gave me 3600 W. Olive Dr in Burbank CA. I looked up the company name online and there is no David & Thompson associated with that address. I called the 616 number back and they said that they have 11 locations and do not have a corporate address. I told them to send me the collections letter in the mail. They said they don't do that. Then they wanted my email address. They had my social security number and my bank account information through PNC bank. They hung up on me. I called back at least 5 times, they ignored my call or a new person would answer and give me details that contradicted what the last person told me. They said they would transfer me to Check n Go. After several minutes someone answered and you could tell it was the same office by the background noise. They said that their company Check n Go would often delay processing delinquent accounts to accrue penalties and late fees. I told them I would call Check n Go myself. I called Check n Go. They said I owe them nothing. They do not work with 3rd parties and have never heard of David & Thompson. They also told me that they do not litigate. I called David & Thompson back with the information from Check n Go and they then stated that I was not the person they were looking for, it was a different person with the same name. Ridiculous. Total scam.

Mystery shopper solicitation with a check sent to be deposited. Then they want you to send money to them. Did not do it.
