This man initially messaged me on Plenty of Fish. I thought his profile was too good to be true, and I was very skeptical the whole time. He claimed to be an orthopedic surgeon who lived in California. Then he said he signed a contract to go to Syria for 6 months. He wanted me to get off the dating site right away (red flag) and go to (Whatsapp) to chat. I had no idea so many scammers have been using this platform so I went to the app and we talked from there. We spoke on the phone through there. And video chatted several time....I'm still not sure how he pulled that part of. He sent me pictures that I all found to be pulled from a Turkish dr's facebook, Dr. Cem Karas. This man used God and his "faith" to lure me in, and he said all the right things and seemed like such a great person! He was charming and sweet and kind. Sent me scriptures and prayers. And when I finally realized he was not who he said.........he wanted $20, 000. Threatened to send some pictures I had sent him to a church group and post on my facebook. He knew I did not have this kind of money from our conversations....but knew I had a lot of family and friends and expected me to find it. I told him that I had 5,000 and he said I needed to send that and he would not post or send pictures. I played along....told him I was sending it...and he gave me his bitcoin info to send it to him. I then blocked him, got off of that app, and contacted the police. Hoping we can snag this guy and he will get what he deserves. But he most definately is going to Hell....not to Heaven!
