Myself and three others that I currently know of were part of a fraudulent scam by a Contractor in Denver (or at least claimed to be a contractor) from early 2016 up until recently. He has promised work to be done which was never completed (or even started in most cases), provided invoices that were fake to receive more funds from at least three of the four companies/individuals involved, and provided invoices for building materials that we believe were fake as we never received any of the materials (hardwood floors, home support beams, etc). One of us has already filed a lawsuit against this contractor, and three more will surely follow (including myself). After realizing the extent of the con he was executing, we called subcontractors that worked under him only to find out that he had either not paid the Subcontractors or just partial payments (and then refused to accept calls from them moving forward, as he has also done to us). In addition, from the start of the project he did not perform the necessary city/state requirement of lead and asbestos testing which lead to us to incur an ADDITIONAL $17,000 site cleanup (in addition to the $15k+ that he had stolen from us through materials not received, work not completed, and work that was done incorrectly that we had to redo).
