A man identifying himself as David Anderson of Publishers Clearing House contacted my elderly mother stating she had won 2.5 million dollars. He instructed her to go to her banks and open up new accounts putting $500 in each and then provide him with the account numbers. I attempted to confront him by phone and he wouldn’t provide information saying I needed to discuss with my mother and he was on another call with the Federal Trade Commission and he would call back. I continued to press for information and he hung up. I was able to stop my mother from completing his instructions just prior to her following through.
