CyberSupport Reports & Reviews (1)

This started as something of my own doing. I was the one who messed up and got some online accounts hacked (Discord). After sending in multiple tickets to Discord attempting to have them resolve the issue, for which I received no response over multiple days, I took my complaint to Twitter. There, I received a link to a company which had a Twitter page and which specialized in retrieving lost accounts. Examining the page, I saw that it had been apparently handling similar issues for a year, and had no reports from Twitter. With the number of requests I received, I felt somewhat comfortable that it was a more or less decent business. It couldn't have been worse than the hackers.

I contacted them. They stated that there would be a fee of $50 per account, which seemed reasonable. They thanked me, and said that the process would take 45 minutes. Then the extra charges started coming in over the next three hours. Feeling that I was already committed to the service, I acquiesced and paid their fees. $50 turned into hundreds of dollars.

Finally, the support I was speaking to on Twitter stated that there would be one final fee, a charge for a 24-hour process in which they monitored the compromised accounts to ensure that they had indeed secured the issue. Under the guarantee that this was indeed the final payment, I sent it in.

The next day, their Twitter account was gone. I shook my head, accepting that I had been scammed. Again, that would have been my fault. I would have taken the loss. But then, they contacted me on WhatsApp. They themselves had been compromised on Twitter, and so shut down that page in order to protect their clientele. Reasonable. The conversation at that point was basically me saying that was fine, and that when they had their own breach under control, they still had to hold up their end of our arrangement, if they were legitimate.

Finally, they contacted me again, claiming that now there was a fee for a "12589web". Never mind that I had already paid the startup, work, and monitoring fees. When I brought this up, they pulled the "oh, that was the other guy" trick. They then asked for my trust once again.
