CVC QuickVinHistory Scam

The same thing happened to me, I got a text from an area code in California, He said his name was Todd. He wanted to come look at my car the next day said he would pay cash, He ask where I was located and then told me he was in a town 100 mile from me and would be at my house the next day. Then he ask me if I could send him a CVC from QuickvinHistory. When I went online and saw there was a $28.00 charge so I found one online that was free. I printed it and e-mailed it to him at the e-mail address he supplied. He texted me back and said he need it from QuickvinHistory he had used them in the passed and trusted them. Then he said he was not trying to lowball me he would pay my asking price but he had to have the report before he came to get the car. I told him QuickvinHistory wanted way to much information. The wanted name, address,date of birth,copy of my drivers license, and SS number. I told him I could not do that but would send him a carfax report. He ask me to use the chat online and get QuickvinHistory to help me but I would still need to give the info to them. NO way this is legit. sad in today world we have to put up with this, My car has been for sale for two weeks and I have been sent a Forged check and then this. And the sad thing is the FBI or Police are not interested in helping you stop this at all. They just don't have time! I have been lucky and saw both of these coming but How many people don't and lose lots of Money to these low life's.
