I sent several emails to Mr. Mcklin regarding adopting a kitten. Once I signed a contract (which I requested, see attached images) and sent him the money (unfortunately, I used Zella since I had done some research on the breeder and thought he was legitimate), he replied that the shipping company that would be handling the transfer of the kitten to my home would be sending me a confirmation/tracking number (Happy Pets Transport is the shipping company). After receiving the email from the courier company with the tracking number, the company then sent me an email saying I needed to pay a $1495.00 refundable insurance amount paid before they would release the kitten into my care. When I sent an email to the breeder, he assured me that the business always refunded their customers. I played along to give myself some time to research the courier company (which has a website that seems legit). I did some more searching and stumbled across this website that listed the couriers name. Once I started reading some complaints, I found out that the breeder was also mentioned in the complaints! I sent an email back to the courier company refusing to pay and that I knew they were trying to scam me. I then tried calling the number on the email that was sent to me and it went straight to voicemail. I was unable to reach anyone on the phone number found in the email. And as of that last email, I haven't been able to reach either party.
