Type of a scam Employment
I was to deposit the check, deduct $400 fir my payment, then go shop at a store and buy $1500 of Apple gift cards. Then send images of the cards and the scratched off pin to the phone # provided.
Of course the check would then bounce and you’d be out $1500.
The instruction sheet was so full of grammatical errors it was a real giveaway. I did some research and found out about the scam online. Then I sent a text to the phone number saying I knew about their scam and would report it and they replied “okay”. I also reported it to First Citizens Bank. I’m thankful I didn’t lose any money. Another case of “if it looks too good to be true it generally is”.
