CTIA - Mr. Tech - Microsoft Reports & Reviews (1)

Received TC on 10/26/18 saying our computer was compromised and to call Microsoft at the number they gave us. When calling we were told our computer had traces of child porn, money laundering and could face $15,000 fine. I asked why this would be happening since we had Webroot Security through Best Buy and Geek Support. They said this did not cover our Windows 10 program, So to make a long story short, we were sucked into signing up for security support for 2 yr. with Mr. Tech. But we continued to get the "alarm" calls.

Our annual security with Best Buy was up for renewal on 11/30/18. So when renewing this I told them about the "Microsoft" calls. They said this sounded like a scam. So they checked out our computer and we renewed our Webroot with Best Buy. However, we continued to get the "alarm" calls on restricted numbers, which we were not answering until Friday, Dec. 7, my husband decided to answer and told them to stop calling, this was a scam. The guy asked if we wanted our money back, and when talking to Mr. Tech about this, they had the guy from CTIA support call me. He said no refund even though the "contract" said money would be refunded within 6 months if not satisfied with services. So this told us that the Support team, Mr. Tech Security, and alarm callers were all working together. As of today, we got another restricted call, which was not answered.
