I incorrectly wrote down the phone number of a legitimate company. When I dialed the number I was told I had been chosen to receive a gift card. Told her I just had some questions about the service I was calling about and was told I would be forwarded to them when I finished here. I was an [censored] to give my address and credit card number to them for a $4.95 charge. I know better. And of course when done, she hung up. I went back and checked the number of the true call and found I had written 800 instead of 860. I immediately called my credit card company to report the fraud.
