Friend on Facebook said she saw my information on winning grant list.

I was contacted by a friend on messenger about a life changing grant program... I was told to message them and let her know what they say ... After messaging them I was told I won a grant of 85,500 ... They told me I needed activation fee of 700 in Amazon gift cards ... After they received that then I was told I need 250 for fed ex deliver very ... After I took care of that they told me it would be delivered iwithin twelve hours ... In the morning I was told it was in route to me and would be here in three hours ... Then I was told that the IRS intercepted delivery and I needed $7000 before it could be delivered ... The agent informed me that he deposited on my behalf 2000 and all i had to do was come up with tne remaining 5000 and tje package would be delivered in two hours .... I then contacted a mutual friend who told me that my friend's phone was stolen and she has been without her phone for days now ....

I had a Facebook message come in from a friend of mine telling me that she had received a government grant for home repairs needed after the winter storm last year. She sent me a link to an agent to apply. The agent's name is Lily Stone. I filled out the form and it said that I would have to pay $3500 for Fedex and other expenses to receive the money. I didn't think that was right so I didn't continue with the process.

I was contacted by A Thomas Jones. he told he would see if I qualified for a grant of $100,000. Using my name address phone number occupation and age. He came back with approval for the grant. Reference number 990078567-Batch 9056490602333-ticket 85430000 07024570000-Serial 7755551111.

A few minutes late he said I qualified and to decide on how much money I wanted to receive by the amount of delivery fee I wanted to pay.

The 100000 fee was 750 dollars. I told him I didn't have the fund and he wants to know how soon can I get them

This person stated his name was Agent Adam Matthew with Community Service Block Grant. Stated i needed to pay $500 up front to get 100,000 in grant money delivered to my door by fedex within 8 hours. I think he may hacked a friends Facebook. I called the phone number and it stated it was a text now subscriber.

- Charlotte, TN, USA

I received a message from a distant church friend. He asked if I had gotten my grant yet. Since we are not that great of friends, I had no idea what he was talking about or why he would ask me that. When I asked him to provide an answer to a security question and it was ignored I knew it was a scam.

Got a message from friend on FB messenger. How ya doing then telling me about grant free money not a loan.CSBG. Text this number to contact the applying agent. It was explained more "believable". Come to find out I would have to send them money first to get the money. It was then I knew I was scammed. To get $150,000. I needed to GO TO CA. and if unable to pay delivery process fees of $1500 NOW. I did not. But now they have my address, my cell phone number & full name & age & email address. Ugh.

- Seaside, OR, USA

I got a Facebook Messenger text from an old friend that I had not heard from in a several months. It had their current FB picture on it and everything. The first red flag was that it said we were not Facebook friends, which we were. He gave me a Messenger link to the "agent" that he dealt with, which I thought was weird. The agent'sname was "Michelle" with an old guy's picture. Things progressed and they said that he got $100,000 in grant money, which was another red flag (this friend is very wealthy!). Then they kept saying OK after everything. There was pressure to get the information to them right away. Then, my "friend" said to "just cooperate with the agent" which was odd. I foolishly gave them my information, not my ss#, but name, address, phone #, like an [censored]. I qualified!! Which gave me the right to claim my winnings. Winnings? Grants are not winnings. I suppose I am educating scammers with this information as well, but you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR GRANTS OR WINNINGS OF ANY KIND!! That made me call my friend and see if he had been texting me on Messenger. He said no, he had not. He rarely uses it. Well, what I gave them was public knowledge and easily picked up online. I am wiser now.
