I was reviewing a friend's post on Face Book who was advertising a crypto-currency trading platform. This friends is a licensed crypto advisor. I reached out to him to ask a question about the program via FB Messenger. I asked questions I thought only this person would know the answers to and they were able to answer my questions correctly. I invested in the program and started trading with the assistance of the account manager, of whom I believed to me my acquaintance. Several weeks passed and I upgraded my trading platform to reach a higher return ratio, while informed by the account manager that I would be able to withdraw, or roll over my investment at the end of a 21 day trading cycle. It was explained to me that I would be compensating a 20% commission to the account manager with the remaining percentage as my profit. My account manager contacted me this morning to ask if I was going to make a withdrawal, or roll over my profit. I then informed the account manager that I would be making a withdrawal of my profit and to keep my initial investment in play. The account manager then messaged to inform that I would need to compensate the commission prior to his company's release of my profit. I asked the account manager to utilize my profit as payment for the commission charge. The account manager stated that I was unable to do so and informed that I would need to make another purchase payment from my bank account in order to compensate their commission prior to the release of my funds. In addition, I was also able to verify that the Facebook account this company utilized was false and that my personal acquaintances' account was hacked. I also researched the company further the verified that their website is false. Their physical address is an entirely different company in NY city and their phone contact information is to a debt collection agency in a different state. I then realized that the trading platform and company was fraudulent.
