Cross Durhart and Nichols Law Firm Reports & Reviews (3)

Sure sounds like a scam. They called my son asking for me and stating that I was involved in a civil suit. They wanted me to contact them back. The phone number goes to Indiana. I've never been in Indiana. I'm glad that I found this post. Needless to say that I won't be calling them back.
Thanks

A relative received a phone call looking for my disabled mother and alleging that payment needed to be made on a credit card that defaulted years ago. They posed as arbitrators seeking to resolve the matter and gave the name Adam Brady from a bogus law firm of Cross, Durhart, and Nichols. I let them know that I needed to secure the funds for my mother’s one time payment and when I called back with the relative they initially contacted on the line, who is a practicing attorney, the scam quickly became apparent. A simple google search didn’t yield any collection agencies by the name of CDEN, which is what I wrote down as “Adam Brady” hurriedly mumbled his agency information but when I asked him what the acronym stood for, he then clarified and begrudgingly gave a law firm in Lake Elsinore, Ca. We almost gave him a card number but a quick search revealed that his name and employee id number were fictitious as was the address of the law firm. It’s a mailbox in Lake Elsinore that anyone can purchase for use and of course they had no operational website even though they claimed to be a law firm that was in practice for years. My mom unfortunately gave them the last four digits of her social security number but we are putting an alert on her credit in the event of attempted fraud. Please be careful because at first glance, things seem plausible and legit but the rush to get us to give a card number or risk immediate litigation and their unwillingness to email the demand letters that were supposedly sent were huge red flags in hindsight that could trap someone who is frantically trying to comply and avoid litigation. Very dishonest and scummy people that tried to take advantage of an elderly woman who is disabled and on a fixed income.

They had all of my information including the last 4 of my social they gave it to me for confirmation i didnt give them anything. I fidnt recognize the company i supposedly owe. They probably buy super old debts, try to scare people into paying.
