You receive an envelope in the mail that says "Important Credit Card Information Enclosed," which is the first lie. This is not from any of your credit card companies. When you open the envelope the letter inside says "Response Required" in bold, but if you check below you realize in fine print that "Response required to activate program and initiate negotiations." The whole letter is scaring you into thinking you need to call them otherwise something bad will happen with your credit - "Failure to call and make your minimum monthly payments will likely result in interest accruing on your unsecured credit balance at an unreasonable rate."
