Type of a scam Online Purchase

Placed add on Craigslist to sell item under $500. Scammer answered via text to cell phone requesting to buy item via cashier's check. Scammer then asked for name and address. Once scammer had info - texted that check would be for more than cost of item. I was to deduct amount of item and give mover the rest of $ when item was picked up. Saying "excess was for shipping charges" and would put extra $50 for my trouble. Also, asked to remove listing from Craigslist. Next day sent text saying check was delivered via USPS providing tracking number (sent picture of proof of delivery) and asked me to deposit right away. Check was from a medical center and for $1,700 more than three times the amount of item for sale. I got suspicious and refused to deposit and offered to send check back. Scammer got aggressive saying "You must be a fool...you useless man." "You're not a man of your word... I have all your details with me, I'll get you reported and arrested for this. Unloyal entity." I was tempted to text back but didn't.

After I decided not to follow through with sale I called number and it went to a place of business. I hung up and 2 minutes later he called back. Asking why I changed my mind I told him "I wasn't giving anyone I didn't know that type of money" I then proceeded to tell him about how check scams work and he hung up and sent mer the about quoted texts. I still have the envelope, check and video of person who delivered envelope. Note Scammer had foreign accent possibly from Africa.
