I was recently hired 2 weeks ago by CPB Contractors. I live in New Jersey, USA but this company is based in Australia. I have been in contact with HR rep Kareece Walker initially through the phone and then through internet-based sites. I was hired through "google hangouts" and never had any face to face encounters with Kareece or any other employees of this company. I have only been corresponding through email and google chat. I have been in constant contact with Kareece and have handed over much of my personal information to her as well in regard to payments and ordering supplies. A check was sent to me to cover these payments, however that check was found "fraudulent" by my bank. Kareece explained that she did not know why this was happening and told me she spoke with the accounting department there and everything would be reimbursed. She is still in contact with me telling me I will be refunded. My bank is 100% sure this is a fraudulent account and I have made a police report. Looking back I see some discrepancies in our conversations. However, at the time I was desperate for a job and this seemed like a great opportunity. The 2 emails she has been responding to me with are [email protected] and [email protected].
