The first time it happened was November 9, 2017. My father was on his laptop when a pop-up came on, he clicked on it and it was stating something to the fact that his internet security is being hacked and he needs to call Microsoft Tech Support to protect his banking and personal information. My father is 83 yrs old and does not understand a lot of functions on the internet. This message stated call this number and my father did, "The Microsoft Technician" said his name was Michael Hall Tech ID:G1107 and that he can protect all his technical equipment for a lifetime for only $1999.99, my dad sent him an electronic check. Last week, 1-6-2018 this same company called his cell phone # and stated that someone was currently attempting to retrieve his banking info...Microsoft Technician Richard William Financial Manager started again with how they need more money to further protect his personal information. The caller was asking a lot of questions concerning how many computers, laptops, printers and phones that are in the household, further confusing my father. Again my father sent $599.99 via echeck. When I came home and discussed this with him, the next morning on Monday 1/8/2018 I took my father to the bank to stop payment on amount. Since this they have continued to call several times a day. I have instructed my father not to answer any "restricted or unavailable" phone calls. I have also contacted The Fort Smith Police Dept and they recommended that I file complaint via website.
