A man CLAIMING to be a Sgt with the sheriff's department calls and says there are arrest warrants out for failure to appear in court the day BEFORE he calls and wants a 'security deposit' or in 10 minutes sheriff's deputies will knock on your door. The other option is turn yourself in and spend a couple months in jail before you supposedly have another court hearing. IF you do the 'security bond' option, which is a LOT of money, you get a text message with a QR code. Then you go to a bitcoin machine. "This us how we do it now" you're told. QR code has the name if the sheriff's office and LOOKS legit. The whole works is a scam and your money is gone. The Sheriff will NEVER require a 'security deposit' or lock you up, as claimed by the phony Sargeant who uses the name of a real Sargent. Hang up and call the real Sheriff's department, ignoring the so called time limit, which does not exist! The Sheriff also does not use bitcoin for payment. The whole scam sounds legit on the phone but isn't!!
