Claim to be local Corona garage door repair company, but subcontract out to other unknown companies. Sent repair person from another county. We dealing with them from out-of-state, so tenant met them. Tech advised borken spring, but could only guesstimate cost of repair. We gave OK for spring & barrel. Estimate was approx $600. Once repair done, existing garage door opener would not work. We were advised by supervisor cost would be additional $1900, for a total of $2,500! My husband advised no-- cost was ridiculously high. Supervisor then advised he would only charge us total of $1,900. Still too high, but we wanted fixed for our tenant. Once work complete, tech called to advise we owed $2,200. When asked why larger amount, were advised $200 charge for using credit card-- this was never disclosed up front. Tenant paid by check to save us fee. Company that did actual work is CGF Garage & Gates Repair. I called Corona Garage Door Pros to report everything that transpired & was basically all my fault, I could gave said no. Typical rip-off company. Found other online comments on CGF about ripping off older clients.
