CopyTech Inc. Reports & Reviews (3)

We've received phishing calls as recently as last week, claiming to be from "acopier company" assuming it was CopyTech. Today, we received an invoice from this CopyTech for a toner priced at $999.10, which we found extremely suspect, since we have a service contract with another provider covering all our printers and toners. Somehow they'd gotten the name of our IT person, which appeared on the invoice. We called the number on the invoice, and spoke to Tom, inquiring why we were getting a bill for a toner we never ordered. We also advised our front desk staff to refuse all packages from CopyTech. Within an hour of getting this invoice, delivery of said package was attempted, which we refused. Upon doing further research, we discovered that the address on the invoice is for a "Mail & Ship HUB" facility. Be wary of CopyTech, this is a TOTAL SCAM.

I am the receptionist for a division of a company. The company itself is large, however the individual locations are small. Copytech called portraying themselves as our copier supply company. They just wanted to confirm our copier and address. I told them and that was it. Next thing I know we receive toner at our office with an invoice mailed for $900!! Thankfully, our office is actually small and our accountant questioned the bill. If we were a larger company this wouldn't have been noticed as easily. Larger companies probably just pay bills like this all the time because they figure, "Oh, it's for copier supplies." When I called the phone number listed about a return they just answered the phone with Hello. I had to ask if it was Copytech. They guy was like oh, yeah. He faxed me a return label for UPS to return it. I will see how valid the label is once I get to the UPS store to mail it back. Either way, this entire situation was sketchy.

This is not the first time that this scammer has done this. They call current Xerox customers and have their model number, ask the customer to verify the model, and then say they have new rates for their toner and will be shipping new toner out. They then send a fake invoice for toner, which they never send, and then expect payment on the invoice. They relentlessly call multiply number associated with the company and try to get whoever they talk to to agree to the toner purchase.
