I am new to remote work. I applied online to this job ad. https://jobs.recooty.com/skinners-academy/teacher-of-religious-studies-sk101?utm...⇄ .They only wanted to interview via signal app. when hired they asked if I can purchase the software I said no. So they offered me a new title. They sent me bitcoin to purchase Versa Checks. A lot of red flags when their email is from gmail not the company. They claimed they worked for COPPEL DEPARTMENT STORE COMPANY. They had wikapedia information in the interview word for word. They did not have me sign anything via docusign. I am not about to make fraudulent checks. I wish I knew more about remote jobs before getting scammed again.

I had a similar experience. I feel kinda stupid I didn't realize sooner with how shady it was, but it immediately threw me off when they asked me to print a check and deposit it. I also did the "interview" through the Signal app.
