I was contacted through text messages by a "Mrs. Adriana Paulo" who said she got my information from "CAREERBUILDER" and wanted to know if I was seeking employment. I said yes and she put me in contact with a "Mr. Robert Morris" with "Copel Energy" over Skype messaging. He told me the benifits of the job and wouldn't answer my questions until I answered his. Robert also ended every message with a very abrupt "Only reply with YES/NO or I AM FINISHED READING" and "Do you understand..?" It wasn't until I answered all of his questions right (and got a 91% on his company quiz??? What the heck???) that he said he would answer my questions. And then he proceeded to flirt with me and say he was going to send me a check so that I can buy new at-home office equipment. I told him that was fine and that I would message him the next morning to find out who my boss was.

THEN- 5 hours later I get another message from "Adriana" saying "Hello. Hello. How's your evening going?" And then IMMEDIATELY after "Robert" messeges me on an alternate Skype account? And before I could even respond to either of them, "Adriana" texts me again saying "I don't know why Mr. Morris is messing you from his alternate account" like that isn't a huge red flag. I asked for their corporate emails and contact for their HR department. Messages ceased right after.

The single most wild thing that has happened to me so far this year. Bizarre. My tip: don't put your phone number on your applications or on websites. I've taken all of mine down now. Lesson learned.
