My husband and I was members of one of the local gym in our community. We both had 2year contracts that ended Dec 2020. We noticed after a few months payments were still be removed from our accounts. My account was paid from a separate credit card than my husband. At any time the gym would be called to stop payments there would be a staff indicating it would have to be the owner to handle, but would always make excuses for the owner not to be present no matter what time you were calling. As of today payments still were deducted, I called the gym to discuss this matter once again and got the owner on the phone. I explained to him in many ways that there were funds being removed from our accounts and has been since Jan of this year. He was very argumentative over the phone and agreed we should come in because I was being persistent on the payments being removed and could prove it. Once I got to the gym, he was very abrasive and insulting in front of his customers at the gym. Despite me attempting to show the charges to our accounts on my phone, he continued to deny taking the payments from the accounts. Over the past 24 months between both accounts this gym received $1164.80, and we only used the gym probably only 6 months of the 24. When Covid presented we purchased our own equipment and did not bother the gym. Instead of paying the $100 cancellation fee, we decided to pay the gym because of the struggles all businesses were going thru, never intended for them to keep taking funds out of our accounts. He was very rude and insulting in front of his customers. I want others to be aware of the fraud that has taken place. So for four months we have been paying for a expired gym membership.
