I looked over Cook Unity's website and started getting emails from them offering discounts. When I signed up for heavily discounted meals, I got buyer's remorse and looked into whether it was possible to cancel my order as it hadn't been charged yet. I could see that they had not started processing the order yet claimed that they could not cancel the subscription until the first order arrived, despite the Terms of Service explicitly saying you can cancel 'at any time' (though you may still be charged for orders that are far enough along in their processing). The option to skip a week was greyed out, as was the option to cancel. Multiple comments on the site were identical pleas to 'Please cancel my subscription'. There should be no reason for the company to prevent cancellations at any time, regardless of whether you have received an order yet or not- that makes no sense. Commentary online has noted that other people claim their accounts were reactivated years later with expired credit cards or when a promotion triggered the reactivation of an account. I emailed the company to request cancellation and received an email asking for feedback about the reason for my cancellation, and found that I could not access my account anymore. However, within a few days they had sent another email announcing that my meals had selected for me for the week. I emailed again but, ultimately, I have been forced to cancel my debit card and order a new one in the hopes that they will not be able to keep charging me. I will note that I requested a cancellation of my order before I was charged, before the food was processed, and according to the Terms of Service this should have been possible but the website greys out the options to cancel and gorces you to receive the first order before you can cancel. I did not have faith that they would honor any attempt to cancel after that delivery based on the bizarre and restrictive requirements to first receive an order before cancelling, even if you haven't yet been charged and they haven't prepared your food. Also- no phone number listed on the site that I could find, and no obvious Contact information. Site chatbot only directed me to Terms of Service. Something is wrong here
