I was contacted via email about the sale of a timeshare. We exchanged several emails with ARP providing various documents appearing to be very legitimate. I also communicated via phone with two or three of the representatives mentioned in the documents and emails I received. During the process I looked up the company's website which looked quite legitimate. The last email I received attached two documents, one of them indicating I needed transfer $4,000 to an intermediary in New York, NY. At his point my wife and I became suspicious of this opportunity. With this in mind I decided to contact the timeshare owned directly to see if they had ever heard of ARP. They had heard of the company and knew it was likely a scam since ARP had requested money from me. The timeshare company also reminded me I had sold my timeshare a few years back. At his point I have not communicated with ARP, nor have I heard anything from ARP. I have received several documents from ARP, but have not attached any to this information. I can provide these documents upon request.
