I recently took a survey through Survey Monkey about my interest in being a secret shopper, something I would like to do. I received a letter postmarked from Penitas, TX with two pieces of paper and a cashiers check from Firstlight Federal Credit Union payable to me for $2,850. One paper was instructions, the other was a survey to fill out and send back after I completed the job. I was asked to email or text to let the person know I received the letter. I was instructed to deposit the cashier's check into an active checking account and e-mail or text a clear image of the deposit receipt so they could release the restriction on the funds. I was to keep $300 and use the rest to purchase 6 - $400 Walmart gift cards from Walmart, and 1 - $150 gift card to Steam. I was to scratch off the cards to reveal the codes and then e-mail or text a photo of the back of the gift cards, and my completed survey. I was told to not let anyone at Walmart know what I was doing. The letter was signed by Mr. James Morris, MBA, Survey Coordinator.
