They supposedly will negotiate with your mortgage company if you've gotten behind on payments and are facing foreclosure. They say they will negotiate a loan modification with your lender to make your payments more affordable. It seemed legit until they told me I would have to pay them close to $1,000 per month while they negotiate. According to the FTC website, it is illegal for a mortgage relief company to charge the consumer anything until an agreement has been made with the lender to modify the loan. This guy was asking for a payment right away just so they could get started working on it.
