June 5th, received a text message from Don Wayne of Global Construction stating he had my resume from ZipRecruiter and had forwarded it to HR and to reply when I got the text. Then I was asked for an online interview and was given instructions to login to Google Hangouts and gave me the contact name of [email protected] and proceeded with the interview. (Flag #1) after the 1 hour chat interview I was told to wait for the result and was informed that they were looking at 281 other people. 20 minutes later I was told was I was 1 of 18 people selected for the job. It was an online work from home job doing data entry and accounting. They would provide me with a Macbook Pro and would send me a check to pay for software (Flag #2) I was ready to end the conversation there but decided to see where it went. I was told to report back the next morning to start my training which I would be paid for. The next morning I was sent an email from the Company congratulating me welcoming me to the "team" and that my equipment and a check was on its way. I got online and chatted with Candace and was told she sent me an email with my "task" so they could access my experience. I did the tasks and was told to return the same time the next day. Upon logging in to chat with Candace she sent me a tracking number for the check that was sent (Flag #3) and given instructions to deposit it right away and would be sent vendor contact information. I asked where my HR paperwork and was told I would get it Friday. I told her I believed this was a scam and told her not to contact me any further! The check arrived. Inside the large envelope was a business envelope with a poorly placed label (Flag) and inside that was a welcome letter on plain paper no letter head (Flag) from Michael Eric email: [email protected]. (What, really) My husband decided to call the bank listed on the cashiers check (Flag) and yes the check was bogus!!! lesson learned. Glad I didn't loose any money!
