I was contacted via text from a "recruiter" named Jake Elrad who claimed to work for Prophet Consulting Firm. This recruiter asked me to download Teams and connect with Conor Smith. From there Conor conducted an interview via chat for a data entry position making $30.00 an hour. Once the "interview" was complete I was informed I was hired and I would get a check in the mail to purchase the equipment needed for the position. The check was completely fraudulent. The address and phone number on the packaging was different from the business on the check. Do not fall for this scam!!
