I received a telephone call on my cell phone (it was a new phone number) and was told that my number had just been used by someone who had recently stayed at a resort....(even though it was a new number for me and it had not been me who had stayed at their resort)...so dumb of me really....but was told if I were we’re 18 and had a valid ID that I would qualify for their vacation package. This was through the grand Imperial cruise lines which does exist and it was for the grand celebration cruise ship which also exists, it was eight nights nine days which included a four day three night cruise and the original trip was either to Orlando or Fort Lauderdale. This did not include airfare which we would have to provide they gave us a total price of $1670 for the package. So when we said we couldn’t afford that all at once they agreed to take $200 down and a certain amount per month to be due on the fifth of every month. The following month when the second payment didn’t come out we called the customer care number that we were given and we spoke with someone who sounded to us very weird and gave us an odd story so we called the cell phone number of our “promotion manager”, Wally....and got somebody else that said he was no longer with the company but that they would be calling back and requesting the credit card information again and that information would need to be given by us again for each subsequent month. I’m assuming this is because they can’t just automatically take monthly payments from someone and they have to have a verbal ok each time over the phone and that’s when we realized that this was a scam. When we looked deeper on the ScamPulse.com website (while typing in the words grand celebration in the scammer alert box) we came up with a list of people who already been scammed in a very similar way.

Please...so don’t give them any money (don’t give anybody any money) who calls you. We only lost $200 but it could’ve been a lot more...and we’ve since canceled our debit card. These people are horrible, they prayed on the fact that we were looking to have a honeymoon fairly soon and that we were about to be engaged and excited about it and these people just caught us at the right time in our life to prey on this vulnerability.
