Computer locked advising of trojan virus via microsoft and to call a toll-free number for technical assistance. I believed to be microsoft and offered information requested despite usual hesitancy to offer requested information. Spoke with Rebecca who explained what they needed to do. Then "Ronnie" (not sure of name because of his accent) in billing to set up the payment. Then the technical support worked on my computer. Then "Ronnie" called back and said they would call again 'tomorrow' to be sure the computer was working ok. When he called, he said that he was 'unaware' that my computer had Windows Security on it already, so they had to get back in it to "remove" it. I told him they were aware of the Windows software because "Rebecca" showed me the icon on my computer and said that it was this that "locked it up" for my protection. (she was connected in my computer) Ronnie said it was very complicated situation, but he would remove their program and they would only take $150 from my account and leave the rest. When I told him he needed to speak with my husband, he said he couldn't and had to to it now. I told him I had a very bad feeling about this and I was going to contact Windows Security first and talk to them. HE THEN HUNG UP THE PHONE.....so I KNOW there is some kind of scam here.
