Just happened to me today. Same exact thing. 299.99 to fix my network. Never heard of issues with a network. They told me the work for Microsoft.
They told me you don’t need any security software. They also got in my computer by controlling it.

While using computer an alert came up stating it was from Microsoft, not to shut down your computer or reboot! At that point you are locked out of your computer. There is a phone number to call 877-852-1643. Do not call this number just turn off your computer! The scam is to fix your firewall the followng numbers are given as their tech support 888-208-7482 or 888-208-7583. The cost $1800.00! The nightmare begins!

I have since had my computer cleaned and new firewall and virus protection installed *** *** ** *** *** * *** *** ***.
