I was sent an email to sign up to be a secret shopper. I thought this would be a good way to make some money this summer. I was sent a text message to confirm my phone number. I was then told they would be sending me a package that would tell me what to do. I received a check for $1900 and told that $300 was for me and I would get another $100 if I could complete the task in 24 hours. My task was to buy Ebay cards from multiple places and answer some questions regarding the stores. I was then to scratch off the codes and send the text number my receipts and Ebay card codes. I was to text the number given in the letter once I received the letter, which was sent UPS for $7.35. I went to the bank first to ask about cashing it. Teller informed me that if I had $1900 in my account, they would cash it. Otherwise, it would take a week. Which of course would cost me $100 waiting for the check to clear. Teller told me that if the check bounced, I would then be responsible for any of the money that I would spend which would be $1500. She said she had seen several of these letters come through the bank and they were not real. I looked them up and they were not real. Glad I inquired about this first! She informed me that no secret shopper would be paid before the job was complete. I, of course, felt like a complete [censored], rather then an educated person with a Master's degree. This was actually a 2 page letter, but your site is only allowing me to send page 1. Please contact me if you would like to see the second page.
