I received a call on my house phone from a Commonwealth Financial Systems. The person I spoke with said there was a personal matter they needed to discuss with me. Turns out they were trying to collect on a debt from 2016. I don't recall any such debt. They asked for my birthdate and Social Security Number for verification purposes. I did not give them my Social Security Number.

This company alleged I had a hospital bill from 6 years ago. They are a third party debt collection agency. They offered a 25% discount on the debt if I responded immediately. There are multiple google reviews from other individuals stating that this is fraud and had similar letters sent to them about hospital bills.

Received 2 debt bills the same day. one for me one for my husband. They were different amounts. I called to ask questions like where they came from and when. They just said they would put down that I wanted to depute them. They never once asked me what the account #s were for either bill. They just said this was taken care of but would still be a mark on our credit,
