I was contacted by Terrel Fowler a "manager" for Combined Insurance a life insurance company for employment about a month ago. I went and met with him and we talked for about two hours during the interview. He offered me a position as a territory manager starting at 40k a year plus commission. I specifically told him that I was not interested in working a 100% commission only position and he reassured me that I would be a salaried employee plus commission. I was really excited about the position because I am a strong believer in life insurance. I was to be flown to Chicago on Feb 7 2016 for a week to do my training and then return home to start my position the following week. I spent numerous hours filling out paperwork online and watching videos. I felt it was necessary to do some extra research on the company so I started looking online. I read multiple reviews that the company one worked you like a dog and two was a 100% commission and that everyone was lied to! I decided to call Terrel and confront him about what I had found and to be reassured that this was not the case. Terrell could not provide a sufficient answer that the position was in fact salaried and told me that that was what he thought we had discussed in our 2 hour interview! He said "well week one you will be paid $500 week 2 $250 and after that your commissions should start coming in" and I told him that that is a 100% commission position and not salary! I told him he lied straight to my face did not listen to a word I said in our interview and I would not accept the position any more because I would not work for a person who could lie to other people and get their hopes up like that and not to mention waste many hours of my time. i feel this person and business need to be reported and other people should be warned about their malpractice lying ways!
