I received an email from a person who said his name was Charles Powell. I had filled out an application on a site called ziprecruiter for an administrative position. He contacted me about a personal assistant position in response to the application I had submitted on ziprecruiter. He asked me a to answer a few questions before contacting me a day later saying I was hired for the job. He sent a check via FedX in the amount of $3,250 and asked me to deposit it into my bank via ATM. I told him that I don't use the ATM because I don't trust them. He then stated then to just give it to a teller. I went to my bank and ask the Manger if it was possible to verify if the check was real or not, she told me she could. Once the check showed to be fraudulent, she asked where I received it from, I informed her. She asked if I could get in touch with the person, so I sent him a text telling him that I have deposited the check,. Once I did this, he responded to take a picture as proof that I deposited the money, which I declined to do, he then told me to withdraw all of the money and keep$250 as a start up bonus and he would send me information on what supplies to buy with the$3000 that I would need as his assistant. I then told him that my bank called me asking me to come in to verify the check and asked him was something wrong with it, he responded "nothing is wrong", I then just told him I know the check is a fake and not to contact me again.
