Type of a scam Employment

My daughter Nora, 20 is currently looking for employment and was sent an offer letter after extensive messaging with the above email address. She gave them our address, her phone number and let them know she is a single mother looking for work at home opportunities. Person claims they are going to send her a check to cover cost of laptop, phone and printer to start at home business for Cognotion, based out of NYC, however website is non secure and there is no phone number. I'm worried because she gave them our address and her number and are trying to meet up with her in person, scam her or something worse. I can send details of email messages between Nora and these persons if needed but they have her online on a google hangouts and it seems phishy. They have not asked for money yet but want to know where to wire money, send a check or get bank acct number and want to know

I've been applying for jobs online through Indeed.com. I applied for a job that had Administrative Assistant/Data Entry for a particular car company, however I was contacted by this person for a different company. I've applied to many positions so didn't remember at first that this wasn't a company I applied for. This is a scam and I wanted to warn. Here is the information: I contacted the person in google hangouts and they proceeded to ask me questions but a red flag went off when they asked about my banking information. I didn't give it, but wanted to report.
