Thank you for your email. I saw an ad on a Facebook page for CNY pet adoptions, which I will attach below. After texting the "girl" for 2 days over messenger with tons of texts back and forth, pics and videos of the dog, I agreed (stupidly) to pay $350 out of the $700 asking price for the dog and his supplies, with the balance to be paid upon delivery of him. Later that day she demanded the rest of the payment and that is when I started to get suspicious. The refund was never made via Venmo even though she claims it was made. On Saturday I called the number she gave me (I know, I should have called before making payment, I get it) and it was an Asian man who answered. I asked who he was. After a long pause he asked who I was. I told him my name and he immediately responded he was "Laura Turner" and that her husband issued the refund. He then hung up on me. I called back maybe 15 times and then he disconnected the phone number. Before doing that he texted again saying the refund had been made.
No, I never received the dog or the refund. I'm sick over this. A fraud claim has been submitted to Venmo and my bank but I'm afraid I'll never see that money again. I also sent a message to the admin of the group and got no response. I appreciate any help you can provide. I can also be reached at xxx-xxx-xxxx.
