Was contacted by text message stating that my resume was reviewed and I was selected amongst 20 other candidates for a data entry position. I had to then use Skype or Google to conduct the interview. The interview questions seemed legit. Once I spoke to my assigned “hiring agent” I then begin to question the legitimacy of the employment. Conversations were brief and I had to always respond ASAP. They wanted my home address, but I gave them my current employees address because of the sketchy ness. The hiring agent then called me to provide instructions on going to my email to receive the hiring instructions. The email read as follows: “am pleased to inform you that funds for the job you have done and to purchase your working materials/Installation materials and software to enable you work effectively from home was released and you should have them by now. You can check the status of the envelope on www.FEDEX.com with the

tracking number: 773156376459

As soon as you receive the Check, Proceed to your bank and deposit the check, and the funds will be made available after 24 hours of deposit. You are to get back to me on-line after the check has been deposited.

I want you to send me your time Card for this week because you will be advised to deduct your pay check from the total funds.

Keep me posted and confirm the receipt of this email immediately, very important.”

Once I received the above email instructions I knew the opportunity was a fraud. I looked them up on BBB and found their name in the known Scams area. I asked my employer to deny the FEDEX shipment as well, and email the hiring agent to discontinue all communication with me.

I believe they received my phone number from an email distribution list on “work from home jobs.”
